For young drama student Louise, we created and developed her TikTok portfolio around a contradictory character called Angel Weasel, inspired by Carl Gustav Jung’s concept of the shadow self. The character presents two sides of one personality: Angel, representing morality and the idealised self, and Weasel, the fallen angel embodying wit and aggression. This symbolic duality suits TikTok audiences well, who are drawn to visually striking, emotionally layered characters and themes of divided identity, especially when presented with humour and strong visual contrast. Below are selected short-form reels we developed, filmed, and edited specifically for the TikTok platform style and algorithms.

As Louise enjoys studying popular films and recreating iconic character performances, we introduced a limited-edition series of short reels featuring well-known scenes from popular productions like Peaky Blinders, The Great Gatsby, and Blackadder. These limited-edition series connected strongly with TikTok audiences, driving high engagement through views, likes and comments.

To make short-reel scripts more varied and engaging, we drew on well-known philosopher ideas and reimagined them in everyday contexts. For example, we adapted Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, presenting the cave as TikTok, with its content serving as the shadows. Or Descartes’ “I think, therefore I am,” we reinterpreted humorously to show that too much thinking could actually lead to anxiety, not wisdom.
